Just wanted to welcome you to the new blog, my first ever.

The name is "JohnT", obviously. I'm not too happy as to how LJ de-capped the "T", but as they say on Earth: C'est la vie. (Now, on preview, I get to find out if the various coding styles work or if I'm going to have to learn a new system... )

RTFM, you say? Rich Text Mode? Whatcha talkin' about, Willis? (whereupon the n00b dates himself)

;)

Anyway, we're gonna discuss... well, stuff that I want to discuss and stuff that I think it's hard to find on the web. I like to talk about business - from operations to financials to history to whatever. To be quite up front, I'll likely take the side of the businessman - after all, I consider John D. Rockefeller one of the five greatest Americans.

We'll also discuss my awesome family - yeah, I'm one of those. I have a wonderful wife, Laura, and a little girl that is the light of our lives, Sophia (see below for a baby pic, see my gallery for more recent shots). We have a (relatively*) simple and ordered life, are irreligious (but very straightlaced in some regards: we don't drink, gamble, smoke, or waste money*), live in East Tennessee (though I was raised in the Atlanta suburbs), and largely enjoy our lives and fully enjoy each other.

*Except in career decisions. More about that later. ;)
